A Healthier You In 2010

Posted by: affiliatesolutions | December 28, 2009 | No Comment |

A healthier you in 2010 is not only a good New Year’s resolution – it is prudent and possible.

I suspect many of us over-indulge a bit at Christmas and New Year festivities – and while the fun of being with family and friends is great, we have to then lose the gained weight – alongside paying off the Christmas bills.

These are a few recommendations you can safely take on.

Cleanse your body first and lose pounds at the same time. Jumpstart your diet is FREE!

And, you can also benefit from the special introductory offers from the top diets of 2009 Click Here

Remember though any diet should be partnered with a balanced and nutritious daily diet and good heart healthy exercise.

Keeping weight in balance with a healthy diet and exercise is one of the best preventives against swine flu and colds in general.

Better knowledge is better health – check out how you can do this at Good Health Advice.

Be a healthier you in 2010 and be happy!

Swine Flu Still An Unwanted Guest

Posted by: affiliatesolutions | November 15, 2009 | No Comment |

It seems that swine flu is still an unwanted guest in the northern hemisphere as winter gets a hold.  At least here in the southern hemisphere it seems to have lessened its grip to some extent.

Unfortunately, for the northern hemisphere, it got a start in the non flu season and so has been ready to increase its spread.

Fortunately though, it still has not mutated to any great extent in that it has not become as lethal as originally feared and, also there are now vaccinations to bolster Tamiflu doses which were employed fairly effectively in many cases in the early days of preventative steps to take.

Good basic hygiene practices can still eliminate many of the risk factors, if not all. Actions like thorough cleansing of the hands, bolstering the immune system with a good diet and even vitamin supplementation, staying at home if you are sick and avoiding close contact with those who are sick – are just a few of the precautionary measures people can take.

In general, good nutritional practice, coupled with regular exercise, is one of the best natural means of resisting infections – that is, a healthy body at its optimal best is more likely to have a stronger and more active immune system. This applies even if there was not the threat of swine flu – it works for the cold and flu season in general.

So ask yourself – what is my diet and exercise regime like?  What is it like for my kids?

Knowing more about swine flu is a prudent action, and perhaps needs to be revisited if folks are finding themselves getting complacent about swine flu that unwanted guest.  You can read more basic info here

Swine Flu

Posted by: affiliatesolutions | August 6, 2009 | No Comment |

Swine flu is still bringing lots of traffic to my health site – and no wonder people are interested in it – it is a pandemic and the northern hemisphere hasn’t even started its usual flu season.

So far it doesn’t seem to be slowing down, infection rates rates are still increasing, and, sadly, deaths are too.

There are precautions people can take and if symptoms are recognized early, then the severity is lessened with the available meds.  A vaccine has been apparently put on trial in Australia, and this will be timely for the flu season when it starts.

For those over 64 there seems to be some immunity to swine flu – as previous flu infections have left behind a resistance.

It does pose serious risk for those who have underlying ill health conditions, especially respiratory.

Good Health Advice

Posted by: affiliatesolutions | July 22, 2009 | No Comment |

Good Health Advice is still being added to – recent additions have been pages on

Testicular cancer
Prostate Cancer
Breast cancer
Cervical Cancer
Lung cancer
Colon cancer
Skin cancer

Aldo added: HIV/AIDS and  STD’s

Men are far less careful about looking after their general health in the sense of preventive health practices.  Looking at testicular and prostate cancers should be enough motivation to change this – but I can’t imagine too many men doing what women do – being sensible.

It seems like the Swine Flu has become this years seasonal flu! It’s spread has been quite dramatic, but fortunately fewer deaths than a pandemic could cause. Although a vaccine is still some time away (October?) at least Tamiflu and Relenza are proving effective, especially if taken at the early stage of infection.

Feel free to explore Good Health Advice and any comments or articles are welcome.

Completing The Trilogy

Posted by: affiliatesolutions | July 19, 2009 | No Comment |

This last week I have been completing the trilogy of my health and wellbeing sites with the building of Good Health Advice.

I have about 27 pages up so far with lots more to come over the next week.

Sections so far
general health (various topics like influenza, colds, weight loss, dieting)
Radiology
Nutrition
Mental Health
Allergies
Sexual Health

The next sections to be added will be on Cancer, Asthma, Diabetes, Sleep Disorders

There is some crossover on subject matter, but not duplication. The idea of the 3 companion sites is to present a resources for health and wellbeing from an holistic point of view – so inner health, mental health, physical health are the focus.

If you interested in having an article on a related topic, I would be happy to add it on its own page with full authorship acknowledgement and links to your site, Twitter or Facebook etc.

ADHD Pages

Posted by: affiliatesolutions | July 10, 2009 | No Comment |

My ADHD pages disappeared from my site and I didn’t notice – what a klutz – well anyway, I have re-uploaded them now – so all should be good.

Regarding my pages on Anorexia, at Mental-Health-Center.org, it was interesting doing the research on this problem – I still can’t get over that there are sites that advocate Anorexia as a mode of being slim!

The site is still being added to – but all suggestions are welcome – as are contribution of articles which I will publish.
